Prospex Alpinist. Seiko Prospex challenges every limit with timepieces created to exceed expectations, engineered with superior style and innovative technology for the sea, sky or land. Driven by a heritage of iconic design, Prospex continues to keep going forward with excellence in precision timekeeping, crafted for the modern world. Inspired by Seiko’s first sports watch, introduced in 1959 for daring mountaineers, this tailored, yet rugged creation celebrates the rise to high-intensity timekeeping by prominently displaying the Alpinist logo on the dial. Equipped with a rotating inner compass bezel for outdoor adventure, the iconic design features a green dial, a color theme pulled from the archives, with the signature Arabic numerals and wedge shaped indices of the series in gold as well as LumiBrite hands and markers. Visible through the transparent caseback, marked with the trademark Alpinist “mountain” symbol, the 24-jewel automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and manual winding capability. Crafted of stainless steel with super-hard coating, paired with a brown leather strap sourced from an LWG certified tannery. 20 Bar, 200m Water Resistant

    History of " Seiko "

Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo, began as a watch and clock repair shop before launching its first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913. The Seiko brand debuted in 1924, symbolizing precision and craftsmanship. In 1969, Seiko revolutionized the industry with the Seiko Astron, the world’s first quartz wristwatch. The company also pioneered technologies like the Kinetic in the 1980s and Spring Drive in 1999, blending mechanical elegance with quartz accuracy. Today, Seiko is renowned for its innovations and diverse offerings, from affordable watches to high-end models under its Grand Seiko line.
