Prospex Alpinist Mechanical GMT. Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, the Seiko Prospex line meets every challenge with technological excellence and style. Part of a rich legacy of innovation in high-intensity timekeeping, Prospex continues to celebrate a long history of sports watch excellence with re-creations and re-interpretations of landmark achievements. Inspired by Seiko’s first sports watch, the 1959 Alpinist, this rugged, yet stylish, watch features the iconic wedge-shaped markers, bold numerals and stylized hands of the original, along with 24-hour GMT timing. An upgraded curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective inner coating adds reliable visibility, while the inner rotating compass bezel makes it ideal for hiking and outdoor activities. Framed by a 24-hour GMT bezel, the brilliant blue sunray dial includes a date calendar, LumiBrite hands and markers, and a red-tipped GMT hand. The 24-jewel automatic movement, visible through the see-through screwdown caseback, beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers an exceptional power reserve of 72 hours, as well as manual winding capability. Crafted of stainless steel with durable super-hard coating and a secure screwdown crown, this superb timepiece also features a blue leather strap with tri-fold push button release clasp. 20 bar, 200M Water Resistant

    History of " Seiko "

Seiko, founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori in Tokyo, began as a watch and clock repair shop before launching its first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913. The Seiko brand debuted in 1924, symbolizing precision and craftsmanship. In 1969, Seiko revolutionized the industry with the Seiko Astron, the world’s first quartz wristwatch. The company also pioneered technologies like the Kinetic in the 1980s and Spring Drive in 1999, blending mechanical elegance with quartz accuracy. Today, Seiko is renowned for its innovations and diverse offerings, from affordable watches to high-end models under its Grand Seiko line.
